Dear Intern,

About Dear Intern

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, many HBO Max subscribers received the following somewhat cryptic, but harmless email:

Screenshot of an email with the subject line: 'Integration Test Email #1' and a email body that reads: 'This template is used by integration tests only.' The sender address is: 'hbomax@mail.hbomax.com'

Shortly aftwards, HBO tweeted out the following apology and explanation:

We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️

Responses to the tweet included an outpouring of support, with folks publicly confessing their own professional mistakes. The sentiment of which is: "It's OK. We're all screw up. It gets better." I wanted to showcase these responses and provide a permanant place for people to point to that says, "we all screw up. It'll be OK."
